On Saturday, May 17, 2003, the Providence Mandolin Orchestra will present a concert, featuring mandolinist Jerry Miller and vocalist Todne Texeira. It will be held at the Johnson & Wales Pepsi Forum, Downtown Providence, RI, at 8 p.m. The Pepsi Forum is located in the Plantation Building, on Pine Street (east of Chestnut Street). Tickets, which are $15, will be sold at the door and are also available by clicking here.

The Program will feature a typically eclectic selection of works, including the Mandolin Concerto by Vivaldi and Hoagy Carmichael's classic "Stardust". There will also be the Allman Brothers' "In Memory of Elizabeth Reed" and two world premiers: "The Mind Hesitant", by Damon Waitkus and "The Cat in Springtime", by Mark Davis.

Both Jerry Miller and Todne Texeira perform with the well-known local "Appalachian Swing" ensemble, the Hatfield-McCoy Trio. In addition, Jerry has performed with J. Geils, Blues Time, The Spurs, and Frank Vignola, and appears on numerous jazz and blues recordings.
