In the Mood for Jazz

On Saturday, June 7, 2003, the Providence Mandolin Orchestra will present a concert, featuring saxophone great Scott Hamilton along with Jerry Miller on mandolin and guitar. The concert will take place at 8:00 at the Pawtucket Congregational Church in Pawtucket at 40 Walcott Street. Tickets at the door are $25. Click here for $15 discount tickets available only on the PMO website. The concert will be followed by a reception for the artists sponsored by the Pawtucket Arts Council.

Scott Hamilton, the premier tenor saxophonist of the last 25 years, has recorded over 40 CDs with jazz legends like Benny Goodman, Tony Bennett, Rosemary Clooney, Dave McKenna and Gerry Mulligan. Originally from Rhode Island, Scott currently lives in London and tours extensively on the continent and in Asia. This concert is Scott's only Rhode Island performance on his current American tour.

Jerry Miller, guitarist and mandolinist extraordinaire, has performed with J. Geils, Blues Time, The Spurs, Frank Vignola, and the Hatfield/McCoy Trio and appears on numerous jazz and blues recordings.
